General Recipe:

  1. Choose a base: water or aloe vera gel (70-80%)
  2. Add a humectant: glycerin or hyaluronic acid (5-10%)
  3. Add an emollient: shea butter or jojoba oil (10-15%)
  4. Add an emulsifier: beeswax or cetyl alcohol (3-5%)
  5. Add active ingredients: vitamins, antioxidants, essential oils (1-2%)
  6. Add a preservative: benzyl alcohol or potassium sorbate (0.5-1%)

    Dry Skin:

    • Use a richer emollient, such as shea butter or avocado oil
    • Include moisturizing active ingredients, such as hyaluronic acid, ceramides, or niacinamide

Ingredients:

  • 70% Distilled Water or Aloe Vera Juice (Base)
  • 10% Glycerin or Sodium Lactate (Humectant)
  • 15% Avocado Oil or Shea Butter (Emollient)
  • 3% Emulsifying Wax NF or Cetearyl Alcohol (Emulsifier)
  • 1% Sodium Hyaluronate or Ceramides (Active Ingredient)
  • 0.5% Tocopherol (Vitamin E) (Antioxidant)
  • 0.5% Phenoxyethanol or Ethylhexylglycerin (Preservative)
