Face Creams - Anti-Aging

General Recipe:

1. Choose a base: water or aloe vera gel (70-80%)
2. Add a humectant: glycerin or hyaluronic acid (5-10%)
3. Add an emollient: shea butter or jojoba oil (10-15%)
4. Add an emulsifier: beeswax or cetyl alcohol (3-5%)
5. Add active ingredients: vitamins, antioxidants, essential oils (1-2%)
6. Add a preservative: benzyl alcohol or potassium sorbate (0.5-1%)

Anti-Aging

• Use richer emollients: For aging skin, a richer emollient like Shea butter or Avocado oil is chosen to deeply moisturize and nourish the skin, which tends to lose moisture and elasticity with age.

• Include humectants that attract moisture: Hyaluronic Acid is specifically mentioned as it can attract and retain a large amount of water, helping to plump up the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

• Add anti-aging active ingredients: Active ingredients like Retinol and Peptides are included in the formula. Retinol promotes cell turnover and boosts collagen production, which reduces the appearance of wrinkles and improves skin texture. Peptides are chains of amino acids that can stimulate collagen production and have been shown to have a beneficial effect on skin aging.

• Include additional antioxidants: Antioxidants, like Vitamin C and Niacinamide, combat free radicals that can accelerate aging, and can help brighten the skin and improve skin tone.

• 4% Cetearyl Alcohol or Emulsifying Wax NF (Emulsifier)
• 1% Retinol or Peptides (Active Ingredient)
• 1% Vitamin C or Niacinamide (Additional Active Ingredient)
• 0.5% Tocopherol (Vitamin E) (Antioxidant)
• 0.5% Phenoxyethanol or Ethylhexylglycerin (Preservative)
