Eye Creams

General Recipe:

  1. Water (60-80%): The main ingredient of the formula. The percentage can be adjusted depending on how lightweight or heavy you want the cream to be.

  2. Emollients (5-15%): These can be oils like jojoba oil, squalane, or shea butter, which provide moisturizing properties.

  3. Humectants (5-10%): Ingredients like glycerin or hyaluronic acid which attract and bind water to the skin, keeping it hydrated.

  4. Emulsifiers (3-8%): These help mix oil and water phases, such as cetearyl alcohol, sorbitan olivate, or lecithin.

  5. Thickeners/Viscosity Enhancers (0.5-2%): Ingredients like xanthan gum, carbomer, or cetyl alcohol which give the cream its consistency.

  6. Active Ingredients (1-5%): These are ingredients that target specific skin issues, such as peptides for anti-aging, caffeine for reducing puffiness, or retinol for reducing fine lines.

  7. Preservatives (0.5-2%): These are necessary to prevent microbial growth and prolong the shelf life of the product. Examples are phenoxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerin, or sodium benzoate.

  8. Additional ingredients (1-5%): These can include fragrance, essential oils, or antioxidants (like vitamin E).

These are moisturizing products that are typically light and non-greasy, designed to hydrate and often provide anti-aging benefits. They might contain ingredients like peptides for collagen production or retinol for cell turnover.
