Eye Gels

Eye Gels

General Recipe:

  1. Water (70-80%): As the main ingredient, it provides the base for the rest of the formula.

  2. Humectants (5-15%): Ingredients such as glycerin or hyaluronic acid attract and hold onto moisture, hydrating the skin.

  3. Active Ingredients (3-10%): These will provide the main benefits of your product. Common examples include caffeine (for puffiness), peptides (for anti-aging effects), or arnica extract (for dark circles).

  4. Thickening Agent/Gelling Agent (1-5%): Ingredients such as carbomer or hydroxyethylcellulose can provide the gel-like consistency.

  5. Preservatives (0.5-2%): Examples include phenoxyethanol or ethylhexylglycerin, which protect the product from microbial growth and extend its shelf life.

  6. Emulsifiers/Solubilizers (1-3%): These would be necessary if you're incorporating any oil-soluble ingredients.

  7. Additional Ingredients (0-5%): This may include soothing agents like aloe vera, or ingredients to improve the sensory experience, like fragrance or cooling agents.

Eye gels have a lighter texture than creams or serums and are often cooling, which can help reduce puffiness. They may contain ingredients like caffeine to constrict blood vessels and reduce swelling and dark circles.
