Difference with General Recipe:
-
Emollients: For dry and sensitive skin, emollients should be chosen for their rich, moisturizing properties and minimal risk of irritation. Shea butter, avocado oil, and oat oil are all great choices for this skin type.
-
Active Ingredients: The active ingredients are chosen for their ability to soothe and moisturize the skin while reinforcing the skin barrier. Allantoin, niacinamide, and panthenol are all ingredients known for these properties. They're particularly beneficial for dry and sensitive skin.
-
Base: Aloe vera juice can be used instead of or in addition to distilled water. It has soothing and moisturizing properties that can benefit dry and sensitive skin.
-
Preservative: Gentle preservatives are preferred to minimize potential irritation. Sodium levulinate and benzyl alcohol are preservatives that are often well-tolerated by sensitive skin.
