French Green Clay Masks

General Recipe:

  1. Water (40-60%): As the primary solvent in the formula.

  2. French Green Clay (30-50%): The main active ingredient that provides the mask its key properties. French Green Clay is known for its superb absorbency and efficiency in removing impurities from the skin.

  3. Emulsifier (2-6%): This can be something like cetearyl alcohol or glyceryl stearate, which helps the clay mix evenly with water.

  4. Humectant (5-10%): A humectant like glycerin can help the skin retain moisture and prevent the mask from overly drying the skin.

  5. Thickener (0.5-2%): A thickener, such as xanthan gum, can help provide a more viscous, consistent texture to the mask.

  6. Preservatives (0.5-1.5%): A preservative such as phenoxyethanol or ethylhexylglycerin can keep the product safe and extend its shelf life.

  7. Additional Actives (0.1-5%): Other beneficial ingredients can also be added to enhance the mask's effects. This could be soothing agents like aloe vera, antioxidant agents like vitamin E, or therapeutic agents like essential oils.

This type of mask is excellent for oily and acne-prone skin as it helps to draw out impurities, tighten pores, and stimulate blood circulation to the skin.
