Volumizing Shampoo

Volumizing Shampoo

General Ingredient:

  1. Primary Surfactants (10-15%): Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) are commonly used, but milder options like Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate or Cocamidopropyl Betaine may be used.

  2. Secondary Surfactants (2-7%): To enhance the lather and feel of the shampoo, additional surfactants like Cocamide MEA can be used.

  3. Volumizing Agents (1-5%): Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5) is commonly used in volumizing shampoos as it can help to thicken hair.

  4. Proteins (1-3%): Hydrolyzed proteins (like wheat or silk proteins) can help to add volume by coating the hair shaft.

  5. Conditioning Agents (1-5%): Light conditioning agents such as Polyquaternium-7 or Polyquaternium-10 can be used to provide some detangling without weighing hair down.

  6. Thickening Agents (0.5-2%): Agents such as Sodium Chloride or Xanthan Gum can be used to adjust the viscosity of the shampoo.

  7. pH Adjusters (0.1-1%): The pH can be adjusted as needed, typically with Citric Acid.

  8. Preservatives (0.5-2%): Use a suitable preservative to prevent microbial growth in the product, such as Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, or Sodium Benzoate.

  9. Water (to 100%): The remaining portion of the shampoo is typically water.

Additional ingredients such as fragrance, color, or botanical extracts may be added to enhance the product's appeal and benefits. These shampoos are formulated to help add volume to fine or thin hair.
